Looking at the original brochure for the 4800, it appears that you can use the same Matte Black for the 4000 in the 4800 (T5438/T5448 for 110ml/220ml respectively). There's also a new 220ml (T5658) which I understand doesn't stick out like the old one (T5448). Any of these will hopefully get you up and running.

Yes Epson confirmed this today - the same Matte Black ink is used in both the 4000 and the 4800. The swap from Photo Black to Matte Black looks to be a PITA and from what was said today at the trade show uses 10-20ml of ink each time.I will post further tonight - but more than likely I will not go the matte ink route this time around.
