The Ghost of 0088

So... acid test today for the 0088 code my 4800 has been reporting. It usually displays on the first startup each day and you need to restart the printer to bypass it. You'd expect that since the tech's replaced the main board yesterday it would be the end of it.

But you guessed it - turned the printer on today and what do I see - the same MNT 0088 code being displayed. Weird! Check the printer clock and it's showing yesterday's time when it was turned off/unplugged....

So here you go - photos of the supernatural:

It's displaying the time it was turned off yesterday - it should be displaying ~1.30pm on the 30th. As a part of this glitch the printer continually asks for power cleans even though the nozzle checks are fine - as I've mentioned before because of the time/clock related glitch the printer has no idea how long it's been since it has printed so figures it needs a power clean

I've let the supplier in Melbourne know... go figure! Might give Epson a call.

Apologies if you have had enough of the 0088 saga, I have too :s
