Magic's House is my personal site. It's kinda like my sandbox, a place where I can go and try out new things without getting into too much trouble, and hopefully share good stuff with everyone.

and photoshop?

Photoshop is one of the BIG kahunas. I love it. It's a program that you never master. The further in you go, the deeper it becomes. It's great that a bunch of guys thought of such a cool thing and shared it with everyone!

and netobjects fusion?

Fusion rocks! No joke, buying fusion changed my life. It's made the web come alive for me. I don't have to be an observer, I can be in there, creating, learning, having a HUGE time thanks to the great guys at Netobjects. It's the ultimate web design tool full stop.

the best thing about being on-line?

The people, the networking, and the rate of change. Put them altogether and it is just a HUGE experience. To be friends with people you will most likely never meet, to work for someone on the other side of the world and to try and keep up with the latest and greatest.. it's one scary ride!

what's the aim of the workshop?

To show people that none of this cool stuff is hard. It's more about being familiar and aware of options and processes.. and having fun! I hope it de-mystifies some stuff for people...

and that newsgroup thing?

Well, it's only a little discussion group. I spend a lot of time in newsgroups and the amount of spam in them drives me nuts. So the discussion group is a place for anyone wanting to ask a question without getting flamed, told to RTFM, or be sent to a porn site!

what browser & o/s is the site geared to?

In the ideal world, you would visit Magic's House on a fast connection, Netscape Communicator 4.04 or later, WIN o/s, screen size 800x600, and at least 16bit colour. But any old thing will do - you'll just have to put up with some pretty weird shit, especially if you're on a MAC!

so you think MAC's suck?

Not at all. I think the whole PC vs MAC debate is a BFD. Good ideas are about people not platforms! Good ideas, good operators. The platform is only a means, not an end.

anything else you'd like to add?

Hmm..  interviewing yourself definitely has it's advantages! beware of men who where floral high cut jogging shorts, never take yourself too seriously and don't eat lentils before sharing a confined space with people who know your mother..
